ZestIoT, an IoT and AI-powered aviation platform based in Hyderabad, has raised $6.5 million in a Series A funding round led by IvyCap Ventures, with participation from Loyal VC. The startup plans to use the funds to double down on deep tech AI-driven automation, expand its talent pool, and expand internationally.
Founded in 2016 by Amit Sukhija, ZestIoT’s GroundRadar platform brings together airlines, airports, and handlers to collaborate and increase the speed of aircraft turnaround while maintaining operational efficiency and safety. The platform utilizes IoT and AI to optimize ground operations, aircraft maintenance, and supply chain management.
ZestIoT’s technology has received recognition from the aviation industry, having won the Boeing HorizonX and Rolls Royce Data Innovation awards, as well as accelerations from THub, NASSCOM Deeptech, StartAD, CISCO, and Plug and Play.
Currently, ZestIoT manages over 600 flights, 600 equipment, and 9,000 personnel daily. With the latest funding round, the company aims to expand its AI-driven automation and further optimize ground operations to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
The startup will also focus on expanding its talent pool to hire top AI and IoT talent from across the globe to fuel its growth. The company plans to expand its presence internationally, with a focus on the US and Europe.
Mumbai-based IvyCap Ventures has invested in a wide array of startups, including Purplle, Miko, Purple Tutor, Bewakoof, Eggoz, GMetriXR, Deep Rooted, and NymbleUp among others. The venture capital firm’s investment in ZestIoT highlights the growing interest in IoT and AI-powered solutions in the aviation industry.
