Amazon Prime Day ready for 21st and 22nd June

Get ready for the Amazon Prime Day mega sale that is back to its normal summertime schedule as the company last year had to postpone its annual event because of the pandemic.

On Wednesday, the company made an announcement that this Prime Day will take place on 21st and 22nd June. All Amazon’s Prime subscription programs will be getting access to more than 2 million deals across different categories as per Jamil Ghani, the vice president of Prime.

In 2015, Prime Day started and it was held in the month of July. However, the discount celebration is designed for attracting new Prime subscribers for promoting Amazon’s products and services and also it helps in boosting the sales at the time of a normally slower shopping period.

In the last year, the company was forced to delay the Prime Day until mid-October because of the pandemic-related uncertainties and strains on its fulfillment and logistics capacity. Well, Amazon has postponed this year’s Prime Day in India and Canada because of the worst spread of the Covid-19 in those countries.

Previously, Amazon confirmed that Prime Day will be held in the month of June but it didn’t share the date. CFO Brian Olsavsky mentioned that Amazon will be organizing Prime Day one month before this year because July is a busy vacation period. Amazon has forecasted that the second-quarter revenue will be lying between $110 billion and $116 billion.
