‘Appointing Dhoni as mentor is no longer to undermine somebody,’ says BCCI treasurer

BCCI secretary Jay Shah had confirmed the appointment of MS Dhoni as mentor for the Indian crew for the ICC T20 World Cup in the future of squad announcement

“He has a lawful reputation and admire in the crew, and likewise bringing him would not indicate to undermine somebody. They’ve also completed a wonderful job,” Dhumal suggested India Forward.

Originally, the marquee T20 World Cup event was scheduled to delivery in 2020. Then again, on account of the Covid-19 pandemic, it was suspended. And as a replacement of India, this can capture predicament in UAE and Oman in a total of four venues, Muscat, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.

Extra asked if Virat Kohli’s determination to step down from T20 Captaincy was of his agree with or the BCCI compelled him, Dhumal acknowledged, “The board did not ask him to step down. It was completely his agree with determination. Why would we ask him to step down? He was doing a grand job.”
