Chinese electric car company Xpeng releases autonomous features to Challenge TESLA

The feature, called Navigation Guided Pilot (NGP), will allow the company’s flagship P7 sedan to automatically change lanes, accelerate and slow down. While it still requires a driver, ADas integrates the system’s autonomous functions into the vehicle’s steering, braking, acceleration and braking systems and into the steering wheel.

Starting in June last year, Xpeng will be able to compete in the country’s growing market, with 27,041 vehicles expected to be delivered by 2020, more than double the number of vehicles delivered a year ago.

China’s electric car company wants to equip its cars with more autonomous features, and Nio has its own system called NIO Pilot. One of the functions of Autopilot is called “Navigate,” which has functions similar to Xpengs NGP.

Drivers can keep their hands on the wheel while using the autonomous driving features and watch safety videos while driving, while on the highway, turning on Xpeng’s features.

Xpeng says his car is equipped with 14 cameras and other critical sensors and warns the driver when he needs to steer the car. Users then enter their destination on the map, and the cars then begin to perform functions such as lane changes.

The motorway driving feature will only be available to customers in China and will only be available in the premium version of the P7. The function of the motorway drive will also be possible in other markets such as the USA.
