Corporate-Startup Connect Platform CII ICONN to Feature Startup Odisha

Startup Odisha has partnered with the Confederation of Indian Industry’s Center of Excellence for Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Startups (CII- CIES) in order to give startups in the state of Odisha access to a strong corporate network. As a result, Startup Odisha will be featured on the CII ICONN Platform, a groundbreaking, industry-led platform for the startup ecosystem that aims to foster collaboration between corporations, startups, and other important players in the startup ecosystem. With the help of this arrangement, Odisha startups are able to present to industry experts their most innovative products, create corporate partnerships, coordinate closely with other Startup Ecosystem stakeholders, and accelerate their worldwide expansion.

At the CII Startup Summit in New Delhi, the executive chairman of Startup Odisha, Dr. Omkar Rai, and the chairman of CII-CIES, Mr. Kris Gopalakrishnan, exchanged a Letter of Intent (LoI) to this effect. Startup Odisha will receive a pavilion for startups from O-Hub (the incubation center) from CII ICONN platform. Additionally, CII ICONN platform will assist Startup Odisha in organizing exclusive sessions to promote services offered by Startup Odisha, organize startup pitch presentation sessions, hold startup discussion sessions, and enable participation in Corporate Accelerator Programs, among other things.

Startup Odisha Executive Chairman Dr. Omkar Rai stated that the organization is working to introduce quality, instill best practices, and provide the startup ecosystem in Odisha widespread exposure in order to make it dynamic and vibrant during the opening session of the CII Startup Summit in New Delhi. The startup ecosystem of Odisha is able to position itself among the top three startup ecosystems in the country by 2025, as envisaged by Hon’ble CM of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik Ji, according to Dr. Omkar Rai. “Our startup Policy is best-in-class and is currently under revision; we are making it more futuristic so that we can meet the emerging challenges and needs,” said Dr. Omkar Rai.

He also underlined the value of strong startup ecosystems in Tier II and Tier III cities, as well as strong rural innovation ecosystems that are connected to corporates and unicorns. Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, Electronics, and Technology, Mr. Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chairman of the CII CIES and co-founder of Infosys, Ms. Aastha Grover, the Head of Startup India, Ms. Anu Sriram, the Chairperson of the CII Women in Innovation Steering Committee, Mr. CK Ranganathan, the Chairman of the Startup Odishahas more than 1600 businesses registered with it, more than 40% of which are run by women and operate in a variety of areas. Working tirelessly to realize the goal of Hon. Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik, Startup Odisha is making every effort to rank among the top three startup ecosystems in the nation by the year 2025 and have a startup ecosystem with 5000+ members.

Recently, Startup Odisha has taken on a number of significant initiatives that are both forward-thinking and fostering the culture of entrepreneurship, innovation, and startups in the State.
