Dilapidated West Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya refuses to settle for Padma Bhushan

Hours after the Union Authorities announced that the earlier West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya will likely be conferred with Padma Bhushan award, he refused to settle for it.A assertion issued by Bhattacharya acknowledged, “I know nothing about this award. Nobody has told me anything else about it. Within the occasion that they’ve determined to give Padma Bhushan to me, I refuse to settle for it.”The union authorities announced the list of Padma awardees on the eve of Republic Day. The list mentioned Bhattacharya as a Padhma Bhushan awardee within the discipline of politics.Echoing the phrases of the earlier Communist Chief Minister of West Bengal, the CPI(M) acknowledged in an announcement, “Comrade Buddhadeb Bhattacharya who used to be nominated for the Padma Bhushan award has declined to settle for it. The CPI(M) policy has been consistent in declining such awards from the Impart. Our work is for the oldsters no longer for awards. Comrade EMS who used to be earlier equipped an award had declined it.”On the assorted hand, senior BJP chief and MP Ravi Shankar Prasad took to Twitter and praised the High Minister Narendra Modi for conferring Padma Bhushan awards to senior Congress chief Ghulam Nabi Azad and former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya.“Conferring Padma Bhushan to Senior Congress chief Ghulam Nabi Azad and CPM chief and former Chief Minister of West Bengal Buddhadeb Bhattacharya Ji is a recognition of their contributions in public life. This additionally shows generosity of High Minister Narendra Modi and his dedication in democratic values,” tweeted Prasad.
