After Air India’s data breach, next came is Dominos, the world’s popular pizza delivery Domino’s India has witnessed a massive data leak.
The data involves around 18 crores orders, customers’ names, email ids, contact numbers, and locations have been made public.
One of the cyber-security researchers Rajshekahr Rajaharia first reported the data breach on Twitter- “Data of 18 crore orders of Domino’s India have become public. Hacker created a search engine on Dark Web. If you have ever ordered @dominos, your data might be leaked. Data include Name, Email, Mobile, GPS Location, etc”.
He also added that the hacker created a search engine that was misused by the people. And the worse thing is people are using the data to spy on people. And thus, it is like a real threat to the privacy of people.
Jubilant Foodworks owns one of the leading food brands, Dominos, and admitted the data breach. But it also stated that the financial information is safe and there is no threat to it.
Lastly, it added- “Jubilant FoodWorks experienced an information security incident recently. No data about the financial information of any person was accessed and the incident has not resulted in any operational or business impact,” the company said in a statement. “As a policy, we do not store financial details or credit card data of our customers, thus no such information has been compromised. Our team of experts is investigating the matter and we have taken necessary actions to contain the incident”.
