Google & Microsoft’s CEO wake up to the Covid-19 surge in India

On today’s morning (26 April 2021), India reported approximately over 3,00,000 new Covid-19 cases crossing a single-day spike for the sixth time. With the growing concern, India goes down at a major healthcare issue and crisis all across the nation. But the way India spread its hands for the support to the globe, similarly it is receiving immense help all around the world to survive the second covid wave. 

And with this, from Sundar Pichai to Satya Nadella woke up when the situations got intense at home that is the native nation India and pledges to help in the tough times. 

The Indian-American CEOs and tech leaders and billionaires join the list to support India by releasing funds. 

The United States headquartered tech giant Google’s chief executive officer Sundar Pichai announced that it will be giving Rs 135 crore that is around $18 million in new funding for India. 

Google also declared a slew of measures to support increased awareness, information on vaccines, testing, and more. “We know the biggest way we can help is via our crore information products like Search and Maps, YouTube and advertisements. It has also been added in the blog post the covid features on search are available in India, in English, and eight other Indian languages and we continue to improve Localisation and highlight authoritative information. 

On the other hand, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella expressed that he was heartbroken about the current situation of his country, India in the middle of the worsening Covid-19 pandemic. The second wave has brought out a lot of challenges to face, and we all should stay together, this too shall pass. 

To offer support, he promised assistance via relief efforts, he would also help in alleviating India’s urgent need for oxygens which is critical at the moment. 

Lastly, the United States opened up the supply of raw materials for the manufacturing of covid vaccine to India yesterday night (25 April 2021). To cope up with the shortage of vaccines in healthcare institutions or centers. 

It’s not only tech giants Google and Microsoft, another India-American tech leader Vinod Khosla of Sun Microsystems had declared a fund for hospitals and covid centers in India to develop up their oxygen supply containers and concentrators among other essential supplies. In addition, Balaji Srinivasan, a Silicon Valley investor has also announced a donation of up to $100,000 for Covid relief.
