IMD issues ‘orange alert’ in Delhi, north east warned for heavy rainfall

The India Meteorological Division has issued an ‘orange alert’ in Delhi and other neighbouring areas for extreme heatwave prerequisites with temperatures starting from 44 to 47 levels Celsius, reported by ANI.

The national capital has been experiencing extreme heatwaves in fresh days. On Saturday (June 4), Delhi saw searing summer season heat, with the temperatures exceeding 47 levels Celsius. Mungeshpur saw a temperature reaching 47.1 levels Celsius, while Pitampura recorded 46.5 levels Celsius.

RK Jenamani, a senior scientist at IMD said, “Orange alert in Delhi. Severe heatwave from June 4 in Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, UP and formulation of MP, Rajasthan. Temp masses of b/w 44°-47°. Shall proceed for four more days. We describe contributors to project out carefully as heat spells are very extreme.”

The climate company tweeted hopeful for no big changes in most temperatures in most regions of Northwest India for the following couple of days but it be hopeful for a drop within the temperature in Central India after two days.
