India: Navy helicopter crashes shut to Mandala hills in Arunachal, both pilots killed

A Cheetah helicopter of the Indian Navy crashed shut to the Mandala hills location in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday (March 16), killing the pilot and co-pilot on board. The pilots had been recognized as Lieutenant Colonel VVB Reddy and Necessary Jayanth A.

Taking to Twitter, the Jap Repeat of the navy said, “Lieutenant Total RP Kalita, Navy Cdr EC & All Ranks offer tribute to the supreme sacrifice of Lt Col VVB Reddy and Maj Jayanth A, in the toll road of accountability at Mandala, Arunachal Pradesh while accomplishing operational flying of Cheetah Helicopter. Indian Navy stands firm with the bereaved families.”

Earlier in the day, Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat, the general public family officer (PRO) at Defence Guwahati, urged the news agency ANI that the helicopter became flying an operational sortie shut to Bomdila and became reported to have lost contact with the ATC at spherical 9.15 am.
