Currently, Indonesia has launched search efforts for the navy submarine that has gone missing with a total of 53 people on board, as per the officials.
The submarine has conducted a drill in the water north of the island of Bali but somehow failed to report back the results. Indonesia’s military chief said warship that had been dispatched for finding the KRO Nanggala-402 vessel.
However, the officials have called on Australia and Singapore to help in searching. However, the countries have not publicly commented.
On early Wednesday morning, the German-made submarine is thought to have disappeared in waters that were around 60 miles (96km) off the coast of Bali.
First Admiral Julius Widjojono mentioned AFP news agency, “[The navy] is currently searching for it. We know the area but it’s quite deep.”
Some of the reports stated that contact also lost after the submarine had been given clearance to drive into deeper waters. Now, the vessel is one of the five submarines which is operated by Indonesia.
Currently, it was even made in the late 1970s and underwent a two-year refit in South Korea which was completed in 2012, according to the Reuters news agency.
