Mastercard reported on Tuesday that CEO Ajay Banga will leave his present position and take over as the organization’s official director.

The move will be compelling Jan. 1, 2021. Banga will be taking over as director for Richard Haythornthwaite, who has served in that job since May 2006.

Michael Miebach, Mastercard’s central item official, will succeed Banga as CEO.

Miebach has “as a demonstrated reputation of building items and running organizations all inclusive,” Banga said in an announcement. “Over the span of Michael’s 10 years at Mastercard, he has been a key planner of our multi-rail procedure — including driving the procurement of Vocalink and the pending exchange with Nets — to address a more extensive arrangement of installment streams.”
