The former first lady of the United States Michelle Obama has been chosen for the US National Women’s Hall of Fame as part of their 2021 class. Not only her, but she’ll be sharing the honor with eight other former women namely PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, Soccer icon Mia Hamm and NASA mathematician Late Katherine Johnson, who passed away last year.
For the year 2021, the National Women’s Hall of Fame Class of 2021 will be inducted by the end of the year on October 2, Monday.
The Hall committee chose some other great minds and personalities who motivated and enlightened the world with their aura, work, and skills. The list includes Author Octavia Butler, who passed away in 2006, Artist Judy Chicago, activist Emily Howland who died in 1929 and taught formerly enslaved folks how to write and read especially in refugee settlements during the American Civil War, Rebecca Halstead- having an auspicious career of decades in the military forces, and poet Joy Harjo.
Moreover, the National Women’s Hall of Fame website Portal states that- “Michelle Obama has appeared as one of the most prominent and iconic women of the 21st century”.
They also added, we will celebrate the inclusion of these extremely wise and intelligent minds of all times at the biennial-in-person ceremony in October in New York.
The responsible organization clearly stated that they will fully take care of the covid-19 situation in New York City and plan out everything accordingly. While following all the needed measures to ensure full safety to the attendees.
They also said, no tickets will be opened for sale until April and May. Instead, it will host a live Virtual Streaming of the ceremony, which will be totally free of cost!
Lastly, it said – it is the US oldest membership organization dedicated to honoring the achievements of distinguished American women.
