Overcome challenges with Yoga

PM of India Mr. Narendra Modi mentioned that Yoga provides holistic health and also adds several studies globally on the benefits of yoga on your body and immunity.

Yoga adds inner strength which helps the body to boost its immunity and fight against the disease. Even, yoga is very helpful in the fight against novel coronavirus. PM Narendra Modi said, “Yoga shows us the road from stress to strength and from negativity to creativity,” PM said as he addressed the nation on the occasion of the 7th International Yoga Day.

Even, he added, “When Covid emerged, no country was prepared. At this time yoga became a source of inner strength. Yoga helps in self-discipline, it inculcated faith in people that they could fight this virus. Frontline warriors told me that they made yoga a tool in fighting the virus.”

PM stated that in collaboration with WHO, he is planning to launch M-Yoga applications that have many videos of yoga. Those videos are training-based videos based on the Common Yoga Protocol which are now available in varied languages of the world.

He mentioned, that this will help them in making the “One World, One Health” motto successful. PM mentioned, “For most of the countries of the world, Yoga Day is not their age-old cultural festival. In this difficult time, people in so much trouble could forget it, ignore it. But on the contrary, people’s enthusiasm for yoga has increased, love for yoga has increased.” 

Additionally, he stated, “Yoga not only focuses on physical health but also mental health. During Covid, several studies are going on, researching the benefits of yoga on our body and immunity. We see that yoga and breathing exercises are being done at the beginning of online classes. This is helping children in fighting the virus.”

By highlighting the necessity of Yoga, he mentioned, “Yoga shows us the road from stress to strength and from negativity to creativity. Yoga tells us that so many problems might be out there, but we’ve infinite solutions within ourselves. We’re the biggest source of energy in the universe.”

On 2021 International Yoga Day, Yoga guru Swami Ramdev guided with the Weight loss and six-pack abs yoga. Swami Ji through a special program for encouraging the practice of yoga in everyday life. He mentioned that breathing exercises are beneficial for people during the time of COVID. He even added that the respiratory system is strong which not only protects an individual from the coronavirus from many other diseases like asthma, bronchitis, and others. Some of the exercises Swami Ramdev mentioned are-

Breathing exercise

As per Swami Ramdev helps in keeping the body fit as well as increases the oxygen level. He suggested that we must do pranayams involves Anulom Antonym, Bhastrika, Kapalbhati, Sheetali, and Nadi Shuddhi. By doing such exercises you can keep the body fit along with your lings and heart.

Shirshasana

This helps in facial wrinkles, enhancement of radiance and beauty, makes skin soft and beautiful and enhancement of patience.

Regulate blood sugar 

Mandukasana, Pawanmuktasana, Vakrasana, Shikshaasana and Uttanpadsana helps in regulating the blood sugar level.

Weight loss

Ardha Halasana, Dwichkrisana, Bhujangasana, Pada Vrittasana, and Dand Baithak are some of the effective yoga which helps in losing weight.

On 21st June International Yoga Day is celebrated every year. The UN General Assembly in 2014 overwhelmingly adopted a draft resolution, by declaring 21st June as International Yoga Day. There are almost 177 counties that supported the resolution.

As per the UN website, the theme of 2021 Yoga Day is “Yoga for Well-Being” and yoga helps in promoting holistic health in every individual.
