Pro.com Raises $33M For Its Home Improvement Platform

Pro.com a Seattle, WA based home improvements experience for the homeowners, has now secured $32 Million in the funding round of Series B.

The round was led by the Goldman Sachs and Redfin, WestRiver Group, with collaboration from the previous investors Madrone Venture Group, Maveron, Two Sigma Ventures, and DFJ. In conjunction with the investment, Erik Anderson, WestRiver Group Founder and CEO, Gleen Kelman, CEO, Redfin, and Charlotte Guyman, a Former Microsoft Executive and current Berkshire Hathaway Board Member joined the Pro.com Board of Directors.

The company as of now has a plans to use the funds to accelerate the expansion of its latest technology-driven general Contracting business to the new markets with the Portland being the new city to drive in.

The company which is founded in 2013 and led by the CEO Matt Williams, pro.com is a full-service home remodeling and general construction contractor providing services which are available in Denver, San Francisco, Phoenix, San Jose, and Seattle.

The company uses a construction team with the decades of the residential home improvement experience and technology to provide the homeowners with the services ranging from kitchen, bath remodels and the new home construction.

The system allows the homeowners to get the detailed quotes, local project managers tacking and communicating progress on the job sites with the help of an app, and an entire back office team to support the customer project at every step. The company has more than 150 employees,

“Glenn took an early interest in our business model and has been generous to offer his time to me over the past several years,” Williams said.

“As we launch our services in more number of cities, and you will see more in a much more field staff as a ratio to centralized staff,” Williams said. “Over time the construction field activity will be greater than 50 percent of our overall resources.”

“It’s truly a broken industry from the perspective of responsiveness, transparency, communication, and to all those who are all areas that can be solved through a combination of people, process and technology,” Williams said.

“Our intent is to help the customers to drive home improvement across the industry, and I think we can only do that if we can truly find a way to offer the platform we are building out to others part,” Williams said.
