RBI imposes restrictions on Indian Mercantile Cooperative Bank Ltd, Lucknow; withdrawals capped at Rs 1 lakh

The Reserve Bank on Friday said it has imposed quite quite a bit of restrictions on Indian Mercantile Cooperative Bank Ltd, Lucknow, in conjunction with a cap of Rs 1 lakh on withdrawals.

The restrictions came into pressure from closure of industry hours on January 28, 2022 (Friday).

In an announcement, RBI said the Lucknow-based co-operative monetary institution will no longer, without its prior approval, grant or renew any loans and advances, or originate any investment.

“Particularly, a sum no longer exceeding Rs 1 lakh of the complete balance all over all savings monetary institution or most stylish accounts or any different account of a depositor, will seemingly be allowed to be withdrawn…”, enviornment to determined prerequisites, it added.
