Mysuru: Microsoft Corp appointed Satya Nadella as the company’s chairman on June 16 in place of John Thompson. Thompson will serve as lead independent director at the company.
This change comes just over a year after co-founder Bill Gates stepped down from the board saying he would focus on Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Microsoft also declared a quarterly dividend of 56 percent per share payable September 9.
Satya Nadella took over as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Microsoft in 2014 succeeding Steve Ballmer.
