Third phase of Jung E Azadi memorial was dedicated

The third phase of the Jung-E-Azadi memorial was dedicated to the people who were killed in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and the unsung heroes who were incarcerated in the Andaman Cellular jail during the freedom struggle. The memorial was dedicated by the Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. The cost of the third phase of the memorial was Rs.20 crore. Aim of the memorial: The memorial aims to spread the awareness about the sacrifices made by Indians to free India from the British rule among the younger generations. Other launches: The chief minister also launched other development and welfare projects. The projects are part of Rs.450 crore worth development projects of the State. Jung-E-Azadi Memorial: The foundation for the memorial was laid on 19 October 2014. It is located at Kartarpur, Punjab. The memorial marks the sacrifices made by the Punjabi community in the Independence movement. The planning and building of the memorial was carried out under the Director Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab.
