US President Donald Trump visited Taj Mahal

US President Donald Trump visited the Taj Mahal with his wife Melania Trump during his two-day state visit to India. The last US president who visited the Taj Mahal was Bill Clinton. He visited India in 2000. Also, in 1959, then US president David Dwight Eisenhower had visited Taj. Taj Mahal: Taj Mahal is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. It is a mausoleum of white marble. It is situated on the banks of the river Yamuna.  Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal emperor Shahjahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal.  The construction of the Taj Mahal was carried out from 1631 to 1648 AD and was completed within a period of 17 years. It is famous for its unique layout, perfection in symmetry and inlay work. It was declared a centrally protected monument of national importance in December 1920. The Taj Mahal stood as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. In 1983, it was added on the list of World Heritage Sites.
