Uttarakhand: Caged leopard burnt alive by villagers in ‘revenge killing’, 150 folk booked

A caged leopard which had killed a woman lately in Saplori village of Pauri district in Uttarakhand used to be burnt alive by villagers, officials acknowledged on Wednesday.

A case has been registered in connection with the incident that took location on Tuesday in opposition to 150 folk, at the side of the Gram Pradhan eager, below the plant life and fauna protection act and varied connected sections, conservator of forests, Garhwal circle, Nityanand Pandey acknowledged.

The leopard had killed 47-year-feeble Sushma Devi of Saplori village on Could 15, Pandey acknowledged.

A cage used to be location up within the village the same day to entice the wide cat and it used to be captured on Could 20, Pandey acknowledged.
