IPL 2022: Andy Flower confirmed as head coach of Lucknow crew

Frail Zimbabwe batter Andy Flower has joined new IPL crew Lucknow franchise as head coach. 

Frail Zimbabwe captain and wicketkeeper Andy Flower will coach the Indian Premier League’s Lucknow franchise from the 2022 season onwards.

RPSG Ventures won the dispute for the Lucknow franchise within the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a document INR 7,090 crores on October 25.

Andy Flower has additionally served because the coach of the English cricket crew from 2009 to 2014. Flower then became the 2d foreign coach within the crew`s history. 

“Frail Zimbabwe captain and wicketkeeper Andy Flower will coach IPL`s Lucknow franchise. Dr Sanjiv Goenka, Owner, Lucknow IPL crew welcomed Andy to the RPSG household,” the RP Sanjiv Goenka Crew tweeted on Friday.

“I am extremely angry to be joining the new Lucknow franchise and I am very grateful for the chance. The eagerness for cricket in India is unrivalled and it`s a proper privilege to lead an IPL franchise and I am having a investigate cross-check forward to working closely with Dr Goenka and the Lucknow crew,” Andy Flower acknowledged in an announcement.

Aside from RPSG who won the dispute for the Lucknow franchise, the Irelia Company Pte Ltd (CVC Capital Companions) won the dispute for the Ahmedabad franchise (for INR 5,625 crores).
