JKEDI hosts a pitching session for J&K startups

The event brought together a diverse group of aspiring entrepreneurs, investors including a leading Kashmiri businessman

To highlight the thriving business ecosystem in the area, the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) held an idea pitching session today.

According to a statement from the Institute, the event, which was organized in cooperation with several stakeholders, gave startups from J&K an excellent platform to exhibit their creative concepts and ask for assistance from seasoned specialists in the field.

This program, which is a part of a series of occasions regularly conducted by JKEDI across the length and breadth of the UT, was put together under the overall direction of Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce, J&K. The Institute has recently held a number of entrepreneurship awareness initiatives, training programs, startup and idea pitching seminars, among other things. The pitching session at JKEDI was an outstanding opportunity for companies from J&K to demonstrate their cutting-edge concepts, according to Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Director of JKEDI, who expressed his excitement for the occasion. A broad collection of aspiring business owners, investors, including well-known businessman from Kashmir, Mr. Rafiq Khan, and mentors were all present at the event with the same objective in mind: to learn about and support the developing startup ecosystem in J&K. The event drew companies from a wide range of industries, including technology, e-commerce, educational services, and social impact activitiesSeveral of these are Kashmir Kraft, Aspire Educational Service Private Limited, Sky Robo Drones Private Limited, NEKOD Software Solutions Private Limited, United Floritech, Walnut Willie, and many other cutting-edge enterprises. 

This distinctive event welcomed both on-site and online participation, emphasizing the dynamic character of the shifting startup scene. The openness and scope of the event were further enhanced by the ability of startups from different regions of Jammu and Kashmir to interact and showcase their concepts remotely. More than 100 aspiring and established entrepreneurs took part in the event.

Entrepreneurs were given a chance to showcase their innovative business plans during the pitching session, showcasing their ability to solve pressing problems and further the socioeconomic development of the UT. The participating startups impressed mentors and investors with their vision for positive change while showcasing their zeal, inventiveness, and resiliency.

Entrepreneurs received valuable advice, direction, and constructive criticism from investors and mentors who actively interacted with them. The engaging conversations and connections that were sparked during the interactive sessions may open the door to additional partnerships and financial investments in the future.

“We were impressed with the breadth of talent and creative ideas offered. Potentially driving economic development in Jammu and Kashmir are these startups. One of the investors said, “Our criteria is to support any startup that can propel the economy of J&K and is agri-based as well as environmentally friendly and sustainable.”
