Original Delhi: Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Wednesday thanked High Minister Narendra Modi for extending Khelo India Blueprint by but any other five years and lengthening its budgetary allocation by 48 per cent.
To create the twin targets of mass participation and promotion of excellence in sports activities, the govtmade up our minds to continue the draw of ‘Khelo India ? Nationwide Programme for Building of Sports’ over the 15th Finance Price Cycle (2021-22 to 2025-26) at an outlay of Rs 3165.50 crore.
“On behalf of the Ministry and all stakeholders, I particular our deep gratitude to the High Minister for extending the tenure of Khelo India Blueprint for but any other five years as well to bringing it into nationwide prominence by increasing its budgetary allocation by 48% in Budget 2022 and at the side of it in the PM’s Awards Blueprint”, Thakur mentioned in a PIB open.
The Khelo India Blueprint is the flagship central sector draw of the Sports Ministry.
The Ministry mentioned the substances of the Blueprint were rearranged and rationalized by merging/subsuming same ones, thus condensing the 12 existing into following five substances.
They are “Advent and Upgradation of Sports Infrastructure, Sports Competitions and Expertise Building, Khelo India Centres and Sports Academies, Match India Race and Promotion of Inclusiveness through Sports”.
The govt. also authorized the continuation of Blueprint of Assistance to Nationwide Sports Federations with an outlay of Rs. 1575 crore for the 15th Finance Price Cycle (2021-22 to 2025-26).
The Blueprint of Assistance to NSFs is the main supply of funding for preparation of nationwide teams for all main nationwide and global competitions, at the side of the Olympic Video games, Para-Olympics, Asian Video games, Para Asian Video games, and Commonwealth Video games (CWG).
