Tokyo Paralympics: Mariyappan Thangavelu to get Rs 2 crore reward by Tamil Nadu executive

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Tuesday presented a Rs 2 crore cash prize for Tokyo Paralympics silver medallist Mariyappan Thangavelu.

“Both India and Tamil Nadu are overwhelmed with happiness for the continuous medals by Mariyappan Thangavelu. To admire, Tamil Nadu executive announces a reward of Rs 2 crore for Mariyappan Thangavelu,” tweeted Stalin.

After winning a silver medal within the males’s high soar tournament on the ongoing Tokyo Paralympics, Mariyappan Thangavelu on Tuesday acknowledged he would have cleared the 1.90m stamp if situations had been better and it used to be no longer raining heavily.
