CBI begins investigation in ‘money-for-demand’ allegations in opposition to Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra

India’s premier investigative agency, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has started investigating allegations in opposition to Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra connected to the ‘money-for-demand’ controversy, media reports acknowledged citing sources.

While a senior CBI legitimate reportedly clarified that no Preliminary Enquiry (PE) has been registered yet, an investigation has been initiated after the topic used to be referred by the anti-corruption body Lokpal.
