A Qatari court handed death sentences to eight Indian nationals who had been detained in Doha for over a year. Expressing shock over the choice, India on Thursday (Oct 26) vowed to explore all upright alternate choices in the case to receive the start of its electorate.
“We now comprise got preliminary records that the Court of First Occasion of Qatar has at the fresh time handed a judgement in the case nice looking eight Indian staff of Al Dahra company,” the Ministry of Exterior Affairs (MEA) said.
“We’re deeply skittish by the choice of the death penalty and predict the detailed judgement. We’re in touch with the kinfolk and the upright personnel, and we are exploring all upright alternate choices,” it added.

The MEA extra said that the case became as soon as of coarse importance to them and that the authorities has been preserving a shut eye on it.
“We assign high importance to this case and had been following it carefully. We are able to continue to elongate all consular and upright assistance. We are able to also absorb the choice with Qatari authorities,” the MEA start said.
“As a result of confidential nature of court cases of this case, it wouldn’t be acceptable to map any extra comment at this juncture,” it added.
The eight Indian nationals had been in jail since August 2022 over an alleged case of espionage, as per news company PTI reports. They had been all staff of the non-public firm Al Dahra and had their first trial in late March.
