Second Cohort of Startups in Avery Dennison’s AD Stretch Accelerator Programme Announced

Five entrepreneurs have been chosen by Avery Dennison Corporation (NYSE:AVY) for Cohort 02 of the AD Stretch Accelerator Programme. Important issues in the labels and packaging sector, such as linked packaging, material innovation, and sustainability, are addressed by AD Stretch. Over 300 applications from entrepreneurs around the world were submitted for the programme, which is administered in association with accelerator builder-operator Highline Beta.

After the first cohort’s success, AD Stretch Cohort 02 will offer a special pilot-based accelerator programme that promotes cooperation, planning, execution, and analysis with a small set of entrepreneurs over a compressed six-month timeframe, executing pilots in North America and EMENA.

The five companies, according to Jeroen Diderich, senior vice president and general manager of Avery Dennison Materials Group North America, “will bring unique approaches and solutions to our challenges and fresh perspectives to our industry.” “Together, we will promote sustainability and innovation on a global scale.”

These businesses were chosen by Avery Dennison because they have the potential to change the label and packaging sector. They also had to have sales skills, be able to partner with a Fortune 500 industry leader, and have experience bringing products to market.

The Businesses Are:

A sustainable replacement for conventional small batteries, BeFC’s paper biofuel cells use enzymes to turn glucose and oxygen into energy. The next generation of logistics, medical, health wearable, and environmental devices will be aided by Avery Dennison’s experience and BeFC’s printable and flexible bio-batteries.

Moree: With their ground-breaking Reusable Packaging as a Service, Moree makes the transition to reusable packaging simple for food firms. They provide reusable pouches, simple returns, and digital rewards for clients, all while using their SaaS platform to track inventory, orders, and environmental savings. Together with Avery Dennison, Moree will assist brands in making a significant progress towards zero waste while promoting more environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Peafowl Plasmonics’ light-harvesting cell, which will revolutionise electronic devices, can invisibly power any conductive surface, even transparent ones. Peafowl Plasmonics will work with Avery Dennison to advance sustainable energy with their knowledge of plasmonics, nanomaterials, and solar capture.

Puro Renewables: Puro Renewables and Avery Dennison will work together to eradicate the long-term effects of plastic waste. Puro Renewables reinvents the production of plastic goods by using carbon-neutral, biodegradable biowaste materials. They assist well-known companies and manufacturers in developing appealing products while lowering their dependency on fossil fuels and, consequently, their carbon impact.

Stemly: Stemly automates forecasts and enhances judgements regarding the supply chain, finances, and sustainability. Together with Avery Dennison, Stemly provides fast implementation and precise projections, empowering executives to make better and more connected decisions across the firm. Stemly also has an AI-powered platform that manages a variety of datasets.

According to Steve Flannery, senior vice president and general manager of Avery Dennison Materials Group EMENA, “Avery Dennison seeks to foster a startup mentality of agility and innovation throughout the organisation.” This approach will result in win-win situations for all parties. “Our collaboration will have a positive effect on the world and our industry.”
