Tata Tigor, Tata Altroz, and Tata Nexon- three cars that are driving Tata Motors

Well, Tata Motors has completed a difficult COViD-19 year with a piece of good news. As per the report, in March, its monthly sales went up almost by 9% because of its three super performers- Tata Altroz, Tata Tiago, and Tata Nexon.

However, these BS6 compliant cars that were launched in quick succession, which belong to its New Forever range which involves SUVs, sedans, and hatchbacks. The New Forever range involves two more cars that involve two cars- Tata Tigor and Tata Harrier. Well, these cars with the refreshed persona’s climbed to offer better driving dynamics and improved comfort.

Moreover, the range which helped the company its best monthly sales in the last nine years. Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors in a press release mentioned, “The passenger vehicle (PV) industry witnessed strong growth in the fourth quarter of 2020-21 on a low base with robust demand for personal mobility and new launches driving demand. Tata Motors PV business posted its highest-ever sales in nine years, on March 21 and the fourth quarter of 2020-21. In 2020-21, the business registered its highest-ever annual sales in eight years, while posting a growth of 69% versus 2019-20.”

Refreshing design

As the government has brought in several new BS6 norms, most Indian car sellers now launching new models and new versions of the old models. However, Tata Motors also had made changes in compliance and engines. The topmost three performers of the range boast refreshed designed also.

The prime feature of the new versions is one of the best-in-class infotainment systems like the Android Auto and Apple Car play connectivity in Tata Tiago, along with the new Tata Nexon features an electric sunroof, electronic stability programme along with the other connected car technology.

Tata Altroz retained its “safest car in the segment” tag in the new version with its bigger steel rims around its body which is an improved infotainment system, steering mounted controls. All these indicate that Tata Motors has made it a point to move with times.

Spike the Market Share

Despite the new challenges in the market in the SUV segment like Kia Motors and MG with attractively priced offerings. Currently, Tata Motors now able to hold its own. For more than a year, the market makes a share of Tata Motors in the Indian passenger vehicle business which has improved by 8% from 5% than the previous year. Thus, this will describe as a turnaround since the company has lost its shares in the previous year.

As per the research report by Ambit Insights, “The turnaround has been led by a richer product portfolio, higher marketing spends, better dealer incentive structure and focused actions in micro markets. With the recent launch of Tata Safari and the sub-compact SUV Hornbill in the pipeline, we expect the PV business to further improve its scale.”

The company is keeping the momentum going as it launched its ten new state-of-the-art full-range passenger vehicle showrooms in Delhi NCR. These involve seven in Delhi, two in Gurgaon, and one in Faridabad.

According to Rajan Amba, the Vice President, Sales Marketing & Customer Care, PVBU, Tata Motors in a Press Release, “Our ‘New Forever’ range of products continue to witness strong acceptance in the market and the addition of new network operations across the country will provide a holistic customer experience – both online & offline, as we cater to their evolving needs.”
