5.3 magnitude earthquake rocks Chamba in India’s Himachal Pradesh

A highly efficient earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale has struck Chamba, a picturesque town in Himachal Pradesh, India.

At 9:34 pm in night hours of Thursday (Apr 4), Chamba became once jolted and the tremors reverberated strongly everywhere in the town and even reached as some distance as Manali, approximately 100 km away.

Luckily, there had been no reports of major damage so some distance.

In response to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake struck Chamba at a depth of 10 kilometres.

Divyanshu, a resident of Manali, reportedly described feeling the tremors intensely, mentioning, “Felt somewhat solid tremors in Manali. It lasted for approximately seven seconds.”
