On May 5, this facility was inaugurated by KT Rama Rao, the Telangana IT and Industries Minister. It is one of a select few centres that have been created in Tier-II cities.

The Centre for i2 RE’s encouragement of innovation and entrepreneurship will be advantageous to the student body. Following the center’s dedication, the Minister commended KITSW management for developing the facility in order to support research and innovative skills among students and others.

The innovation center’s main objective is to adopt cutting-edge technology and address the most pressing engineering, technological, and entrepreneurial problems of the twenty-first century. Prof. Ashoka Reddy claims that KITS Warangal is well known for its excellent instruction and students’ moral behaviour at work.

“We have updated the training syllabus to include i2 RE culture. The Centre includes five main research sections, including the AICTE IDEA Lab, the Institution Innovation Council (IIC), the MSME (Micro Small Medium Enterprise) Business Incubation, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IDC), and the National Innovation Start-up Policy (NISP),” he said, adding that the AICTE IDEA Lab was sanctioned by the AICTE-New Delhi with a total grant of Rs.1.23 crore.
Modern tools and equipment were installed as part of this project to train the students, prepare them for the workplace, and inspire them to start their own business. Students and researchers were given access to disruptive technologies like 3D printing, 3D scanning, a sophisticated Printed Circuit Board (PCB) lab, a CNC wood router, and a CO2 laser cutter.

The Union Ministry of MSME awarded the Institute a grant for two incubation projects totalling Rs 27 lakh. Additionally, the Union Ministry of Education has given IIC a three-star grade.

In the entrepreneurial agenda of the KITSW, stakeholder participation will be given top priority. The Institute will seek out potential partners, resource organisations, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), social enterprises, schools, alumni, professional bodies, and entrepreneurs to support entrepreneurship and co-design the programmes, according to KITSW chairman and former MP Capt V Lakshmikantha Rao, who also announced that they had invested Rs 10 crore in the centre.
